Navajo Rug Weaving
Diné weaver Lois A. Becenti with Diné Be’ iinà – The Navajo Lifeway. Navajo Rug Weaving Classes are returning to OFPL every 4th Friday of each month. Join OFPL in–person at the Main Library beginning March 17th at 10:00 AM and every 4th Friday in 2023. Learn the fundamentals and techniques of rug weaving in traditional Diné style, including warping, carding and spinning. Please bring your own weaving materials and projects to work on. Honoring Larry Casuse: 50 Years
“50 YEARS: Community Remembrance Honoring Larry Casuse” is a community-wide, month-long event recognizing the 50th anniversary of Indigenous activist Larry Casuse’s killing and striving for social justice with a focus on alcohol and issues of economic exploitation.
