JOB VACANCY ANNOUNCEMENT
One (1) On-Call Backhoe Operator
$16.05 per hour Open Date: October 20, 2022 Closing Date: November 4, 2022 at 4:00 pm
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Safely and efficiently operates backhoe, tractor, small engine equipment; grades and level grounds; Makes daily reports on work activities, work status, mileage materials and supplies used; Will work only on a basis when a request for Work Order is submitted to the Chapter;
KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND OTHER CHARACTERISTICS:
Knowledge of heavy equipment handling and hauling methods, practices and procedures; Skills in safety transporting and operating a variety of heavy equipment, materials and supplies; Skills in following verbal and written instructions; Skills in following safety practice and procedures related to construction work sites; Skills in establishing and maintaining effective working relationships,
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT:
Work requires extended periods exposed to weather extremes, as well as lifting (100 pounds) and working in confine space or a height over forty (40) feet; driving vehicles under all types of weather and road conditions.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
A High school diploma or GED; and three (03) years of progressively responsible heavy equipment operation, general construction and maintenance experience.
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:
Must have three or more years of safely operating a backhoe; Must possess a valid training certificates; a Cell Phone or Home Phone is required; other certification may be required depending on assignment; Depending upon the needs of the Newcomb Certified Chapter, some incumbents may be required to demonstrate fluency in both the Navajo and English languages as a condition of employment.
