There will be a Representative from the NAVAJO HOUSING IMPROVEMENT PROGRAM at THOREAU CHAPTER on Monday – March 13, 2023 from 10:00 am – 3:00 pm
to accept applications for the following:
- Minor Repairs
- Renovations
- Replacement Home
- New Housing
- Down Payment Assistance
ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS:
- Must be an enrolled member of the Navajo Nation
- 0 Must live within the Navajo Nation
- Annual income must not exceed 150% of the Federal Poverty Income Guidelines
- Live in sub-standard housing or homeless
- Must have a finalized Homesite Lease/Cultural Compliance Report/Arch Clearance with Map Have no other resource for housing assistance
- Have never received assistance from Housing Improvement Program or Federally sponsored Program
REQUIRED DOCUMENTS:
- Housing Assistance Application packet (Form BIA 6407)
- Certificate of Indian Blood & Social Security cards for all household members listed on the application
- Award Letters from Social Security, Veterans Administration, Retirement, Unemployment, TANF, etc.
- Dr. Statement-if claiming disability
- Veterans Document (DD214) – if claiming Veteran
- Finalized Homesite Lease – NEEDS TO BE IN APPLICANTS‘ NAME
- Cultural Resource Compliance and/or Archaeological Inventory Report with man
- Other Documents: If claiming Grandchildren and/or niece/nephew, a legal Guardianship decree is required.
